Chadron Pizza Hut Permanently Closes as Crews Remove Signage, Staab Confirms
Staab Management Company confirmed the Pizza Hut in Chadron has been permanently closed, and crews removed signage Wednesday, leaving staff and the community facing uncertainty.

Staab Management Company confirmed by email that the Pizza Hut location in Chadron has been permanently closed, and on-site activity Wednesday morning made clear the store was being cleared out. Workers who staff the restaurant and customers will face an abrupt change in local service and hours while details about employee impacts remain unknown.
"Chadron Pizza Hut Closing Its Doors", January 28, 2026, By Jeremy Anderson.
"In an email from Staab Management Company, the Pizza Hut location in Chadron has been permanently closed. No further information has been given at this time." Photos by Chadrad Communication’s Jett Rasmussen show the restaurant location stripped of permanent signage. Only fliers and décor remain on a few windows. Cleanup crews were gone before 11 a.m. Wednesday.
Local observers documented removal activity on Wednesday morning. "On Wednesday morning crews were seen removing signage in their parking lot off of 3rd street." The visual reporting and the management email together establish that the closure was in effect and that the storefront was being physically cleared the morning of Jan. 28, 2026.
The management email is the only clear confirmation available at this time; available reporting includes a truncated social post that suggests an employee also provided notice but the capture is incomplete. "[Facebook]: Pizza Restaurant To Close ❌ Earlier today we confirmed through an employee that the Pizza Hut location will permanently close this coming" (truncated in source capture). No further details about the reason for the closure, the number of employees affected, severance or reassignment, or a final day of service were provided in the materials reviewed.
Staab’s footprint in the region provides some context for local labor dynamics. "According to their website, Staab also manages Pizza Hut locations in Alliance, Gordon, Sidney and Valentine along with several other locations across Nebraska." That portfolio means decisions at one site can ripple across shared management structures, but it is not clear whether the Chadron closure is part of a wider operational shift.
For crew members, the immediate impacts include lost shifts, interrupted schedules, and uncertainty about reemployment. For managers and franchise staff, the closure creates administrative tasks around payroll, final staffing decisions and communicating next steps to employees. Downtown businesses that relied on restaurant traffic may also feel a short-term decline in foot traffic.
Chadrad Communications and its stations AM 610 KCSR and FM 107.7 KBPY published the visual reporting and contact details for local follow-up: Chadrad Communications, 226 Bordeaux Street, Chadron, NE 69337, Phone (308) 432-5545, Fax (308) 432-5601. The current public record contains the Staab email and the on-site photos and notes; no additional corporate or franchise statements were available.
The closure leaves a clear next chapter to pursue: confirm the scope of employee impacts, obtain a fuller statement from Staab Management Company and Pizza Hut corporate, and follow whether the property will be repurposed. For Chadron’s restaurant workers, the immediate concern is securing hours and income while local officials and employers sort the operational fallout.
