Sea Huts Corp., the South Carolina franchisee that operates nearly 30 Pizza Hut locations across the state, is two days away from opening a new restaurant at 364 Longs Pond Road in Lexington, filling a space that sat vacant after Schooners Bar & Grill closed last July.

The site sits inside the Longs Pond Square shopping strip just south of the Interstate 20 interchange, a corridor that sees roughly 13,600 cars per day on Longs Pond Road alone, with another 51,000 passing on I-20 nearby, according to South Carolina Department of Transportation data. Neighboring tenants include a Starbucks, an Arby's, a McDonald's and a Love's gas station.

Stuart Seagroves, president of Sea Huts Corp., framed the location as a deliberate bet on that traffic volume. "Our goal with the Longs Pond Road location was to marry the iconic flavors our fans love with unparalleled ease of access," Seagroves said in a news release. "Whether you're heading home from work or picking up dinner for the family, our new pick-up window makes getting a hot, fresh meal faster and easier than ever."

That pick-up window is a notable operational feature for Lexington County commuters who want carryout without a full parking-lot stop. The location will also be among the first in the chain to serve Pizza Hut's reformulated hand-tossed crust, described in company materials as "reimagined for a lighter, airier texture and seasoned to perfection."

Worth noting: not all reporting has confirmed the March 12 date. One outlet observed interior construction still underway during a recent visit and reported that no opening date had been publicly announced at that point. Planning commission documents from November listed the address as 364-A Longs Pond Road, a minor discrepancy from the 364 Longs Pond Road cited in Sea Huts Corp.'s press materials. Pizza Hut's own website still lists the location as "coming soon."

Sea Huts Corp. has not publicly addressed those gaps, and the year attached to the March 12 date was missing from some source documents, though the Newsbreak report attributed the specific date to a company news release. With today being March 10, the timeline is tight.

Pizza Hut counts more than 6,700 U.S. locations, per data aggregator ScrapeHero. The Lexington opening would add another outpost to Sea Huts Corp.'s regional footprint, which already spans nearly three dozen South Carolina restaurants.
