A civil complaint filed in early March 2026 alleges that employees at the Golden Corral buffet at 1445 W. Sunset Rd., near Stephanie Street in Henderson, Nev., assaulted 59-year-old customer Gary Sellinger on Feb. 2, 2025, leaving him with a traumatic brain injury, scratches and stab wounds. The suit names manager Jamie Crafts and employee Michael Strang and seeks damages and other costs.

The complaint lays out a sequence of events that began when Sellinger arrived at the restaurant at about 5 p.m. with one friend and a second friend later joined their party. The filing says a manager approached and accused the group of not paying for their meals, despite Sellinger presenting a receipt showing payment for three people, and then ordered them to leave the buffet-style restaurant.

According to the complaint, violence followed when Sellinger stood to hand Crafts his silverware: the suit alleges that Michael Strang grabbed Sellinger by the neck and slammed him into a table. The complaint states additional unnamed employees then "entered the fray causing Plaintiff (Sellinger) to fall to the ground and strike his head," and it alleges the employees "pummeled, hit, kicked and stabbed Plaintiff with a fork. This attack on a 59-year-old man caused serious and irreversible injuries to Plaintiff."

Sellinger’s attorney, Keith Galliher, said Sellinger has been evaluated and diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury after striking his head when he was tackled and fell. "I've had him evaluated and he has a traumatic brain injury because he struck his head on the chair when he was tackled and fell to the floor," Galliher said. Galliher also said he has hospital photos and witnesses that confirm multiple fork stabbings: "I've got the photos from the hospital, I've got the witnesses and they confirmed, the photos confirm he (Sellinger) was stabbed multiple times with a fork," he added, while declining to share those photos publicly.

The complaint was filed in District Court in early March 2026; the filing as reported does not specify a case number, dollar amount sought, or the particular county or district. The public record excerpts available to date do not include any statement from Golden Corral corporate or from the named employees, and no police reports or criminal charges are identified in the complaint excerpts.

For restaurant operators and managers, the suit names a manager, Jamie Crafts, and an employee, Michael Strang, drawing attention to the legal exposure that can follow a customer payment dispute at a buffet-style location. The District Court filing will require documentation and answers about what happened that Feb. evening at 1445 W. Sunset Rd. as the case moves forward.
