Certification filings and a March 31 post from known leaker Mauro Tandoi have placed the Insta360 X6 squarely in an April 2026 launch window, with a rumored spec sheet that reads like a point-by-point response to every complaint leveled at its predecessor.

Tandoi, who has an established track record in the drone and camera space, flagged the X6 registration just days ago. The serial images accompanying those filings align with Insta360's spring release cadence for the X-series lineup, and the X4 and X5 both arrived in spring windows. The pattern, stacked against the regulatory documentation, has observers treating an April announcement as near-certain rather than speculative.

The headline rumored improvement is 8K/60fps 360 capture, a jump that would address one of the most persistent criticisms of current dual-lens spherical cameras: high-resolution footage locked to lower frame rates that limit the smoothness of reframed clips. Alongside that, the rumor matrix includes 10-bit color recording, which would give creators substantially more latitude in post-production grading, and upgraded sensors with larger effective photosites aimed at closing the low-light gap with rivals.
