LAVA International Opens First All Hot Yoga and Pilates Studio in Malaysia

LAVA International's "All Hot" concept studio in Damansara Uptown, Malaysia, will be the Tokyo-headquartered brand's first facility anywhere to fully combine hot yoga and hot reformer Pilates under a single roof, with an April 2026 opening announced on March 31.

The studio houses two distinct heated rooms: one dedicated to hot yoga and one equipped for hot reformer Pilates. Both spaces are finished in Hinoki wood and stone, a design choice LAVA says is intended to enhance flexibility, circulation, and recovery. The brand frames the pairing as time-efficient full-body conditioning that supports mental clarity and stress relief, positioning the studio for practitioners who want mobility, strength, and mindfulness work without splitting their training across separate facilities.

Programming spans beginner-friendly sessions for newcomers to the heat all the way to strength-focused formats and mindfulness-based classes for more experienced practitioners. That range is made structurally possible by the dual-studio layout, which lets members move between hot yoga and reformer work within a single visit.

Damansara Uptown is LAVA's second Malaysian location. The brand opened its first Malaysian studio in Mont Kiara in September 2025, making the gap between market entry and concept studio launch just seven months. That pace reflects what LAVA describes as an accelerated international expansion strategy built around a replicable studio model: a consistent brand environment, a defined service mix, and a physical template designed to travel market by market.

For the boutique fitness landscape in Malaysia and Southeast Asia, the expansion raises competitive stakes across both the hot yoga and reformer Pilates segments simultaneously, with potential downstream effects on class pricing, studio equipment investment, and crossover partnerships with physiotherapy and recovery providers across the region.

The Damansara Uptown studio's April opening will serve as the first live test of whether the "All Hot" model holds outside Japan.
