Yoga Joint Taps Adam Shane to Lead NYC Expansion Into Manhattan, Williamsburg
Former Barry's chief development officer Adam Shane signed on to bring Yoga Joint's infrared FIIT + Flow studios to 470 Park Ave. South and Williamsburg this fall.

Former Barry's Bootcamp chief development officer Adam Shane has secured development rights for New York City and several nearby counties to build out Yoga Joint's first Manhattan and Brooklyn locations, the South Florida infrared yoga chain announced March 15, 2026. Shane signed a multi-unit deal in late 2024 and spent several years cultivating relationships with founder Paige Held and parent company leadership before committing to the territory.
The first two studios are signed and under development. Yoga Joint locked in a 6,300-square-foot, long-term lease at Williams Equities' 470 Park Ave. South in Midtown South, occupying the entire ground floor and partial basement. A second location at 267 Kent Ave in Williamsburg, Brooklyn will cover 4,500 square feet on the ground floor. Both studios are slated to open this fall. Michael T. Cohen, a principal at Williams Equities, said the deal completes the building's retail occupancy. "Since acquiring the building at the beginning of 2025, we've focused on repositioning 470 Park Ave. South as a premier office location," Cohen said. "Yoga Joint elevates the building's existing amenities and enhances tenants' daily experience by meeting the increasing demand for easily accessible wellness offerings."
Shane brings a resume built specifically around scaling boutique fitness. Beyond his role as chief development officer at Barry's, he served as EVP of operations there and operated as a multi-unit Barry's franchisee. He also developed health clubs for Equinox. He moved to South Florida in 2021 and became a Yoga Joint member before deciding the brand's vinyasa and HIIT-strength format was worth bringing north. The New York build-out is backed by a group of investors spanning fitness, real estate, finance, and entertainment.
The plan calls for at least 15 Yoga Joint studios across the New York metro by 2030, with targets including Westchester, Long Island, Greenwich, Jersey City, and Hoboken. After the first two locations open, Shane intends to add four to five studios per year. "What's really important to me is building a team-first culture that truly takes care of its clients and its community with hospitality and service," Shane said.
Before either studio opens, Yoga Joint New York will run pop-up events in the city and the Hamptons this summer, and the brand has confirmed a teaching slot at Bryant Park Yoga.
Founded in 2010 by Paige Held in South Florida, Yoga Joint built its model around infrared-heated FIIT + Flow classes that combine athletic Vinyasa with HIIT-style strength training. CEO Bernie Zarco, who joined as an investor and took over the top role in 2016, is overseeing a national push that extends beyond New York into New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Texas. The chain currently operates 17 studios in Florida. Yoga Joint's NYC expansion arrives as the infrared and heated-fitness category heats up broadly: HOTWORX has eclipsed 800 studios and Crunch Fitness added infrared yoga as part of its 3.0 blueprint, signaling that major players are treating the format as a mainstream draw rather than a niche offering.
