Heartfulness Sets Guinness Record, Twenty Million Join Global Meditation
Heartfulness set a Guinness World Record for the largest YouTube guided meditation livestream on World Meditation Day, with Revered Daaji leading a session that formed the core of celebrations on December 26, 2025. An estimated 20 million people across 175 countries participated through in person gatherings, institutional sessions, and online viewing, highlighting meditation's expanding role in public life and wellbeing.

Heartfulness announced a Guinness World Record for the most viewers for a guided meditation livestream on YouTube, anchored by a session led by Revered Daaji, Guide of Heartfulness and President of Shri Ram Chandra Mission. The livestream served as the focal point of World Meditation Day observances on December 26, 2025, and organizers reported participation reaching 20 million people across 175 countries at various times of the day.
The morning meditation at Kanha Shanti Vanam, the world s largest meditation centre, carried visible national significance with the attendance of the vice president of India, C P Radhakrishnan, Telangana governor Jishnu Dev Varma, and Telangana minister for IT, D Sridhar Babu. Media interest was broad, with more than 100 television channels covering the morning events and related programs, amplifying the message of collective calm and inner balance.
Institutional participation was notable. Heartfulness coordinated Dhyan Kendras in over 2,500 Madhya Pradesh police stations, bringing more than 50,000 police personnel into simultaneous guided practice across thousands of centers. At least 200 embassies and consulates and the Indian Council for Cultural Relations also took part. Heartfulness mobilized over 16,000 trained volunteers to conduct sessions across 280 ashrams and more than 6,000 Heartfulness centres, enabling coordination across continents and time zones.
The guided meditation included Pranahuti, a yogic transmission central to Heartfulness practice, which practitioners say supports a natural shift toward calmness, clarity and emotional balance. The practice draws from the teachings of Lalaji Maharaj and Babuji Maharaj, and under Daaji s leadership has expanded into workplaces, schools, public institutions, and community programs.
For community groups and organizers interested in practical follow up, the event offers a usable model for introducing guided meditation in schools, workplaces and public services. The scale of volunteer support and the integration with local institutions demonstrate how coordinated sessions can be run across multiple sites while preserving a shared online focal point. As meditation moves further into civic and organizational settings, local centers and volunteer networks will be key to sustaining access and ensuring sessions remain inclusive and practical for everyday wellbeing.
